About Natsume Yuujinchou
Natsume Yuujinchou is a supernatural contract fantasy based on the manga by Yuki Midorikawa, serialized in Monthly LaLa. The story follows the lonely boy Natsume Takashi, who carries the secret that he can see youkai (spirits). His life changes when he inherits the “Yuujinchou” (Book of Friends) from his grandmother, Reiko, a powerful exorcist. With this book containing the names of youkai she subdued, Takashi finds himself pursued by spirits wanting their names back. Together with his self-proclaimed bodyguard, the pompous but lovable Nyanko-sensei, he navigates a busy life resolving the contracts his grandmother left behind.
The TV anime series began in 2008 with its first season and has since aired up to its sixth season. The seventh season, Natsume Yuujinchou Shichi (which can be translated as Natsume’s Book of Friends Seven), premiered in October 2024. The franchise also includes a movie released in September 2018 and special theater screenings in 2021.

Meet the Natsume Hanko-chou Zousho Stamp Collection
Characters like Natsume Takashi, Nyanko-sensei, Tanuma Kaname, and others have been immortalized in this unique stamp set. It’s offered by the online seal shop Inkan Hanko SHOP Hankozu.
These stamps are designed to serve as a modern take on the traditional “zoushoin” or book owner’s seal. Historically, as literacy spread during the Edo period, such seals became popular among the common people to mark ownership of books and scrolls. They often featured inscriptions like “So-and-so’s Collection” and reflected the owner’s personality.
This collection was born from a desire to create “hanko for people who love books” that could adorably decorate comics and favorite reads.
