As new anime series continue to flood our screens, the role of voice actors in breathing life into characters has never been more prominent. It’s becoming increasingly common to stumble upon talent that makes you think, “This voice is something special” or “I bet they’ll be a lead soon.” From guest roles that leave a lasting impact, to supporting characters that steal the show, or steady rises through hit series—many readers likely have voice actors they’re eager to keep a close eye on.
With that in mind, Anime! Anime! conducted a reader survey titled “Which voice actor do you think will break out next in 2026?”. During the survey period from December 6 to 13, 2025, we gathered responses from 62 participants. The gender ratio was nearly balanced, with about 45% male and 55% female respondents. The age demographic leaned young, with roughly 40% under 19 and 20% in their 20s.

In this survey, numerous votes were cast for voice actors who delivered memorable performances in 2025. Here are some highlights from reader comments:
Tsuchiya Kanba has appeared in popular works like Busu ni Hanataba o. and Let’s Play Quest-darake no My Life. Readers noted, “In Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, Shuji Itou’s unique line—’~ and Gundam is saying it’—became a fan favorite, dubbed the ‘Shuji Syntax.’ Plus, he’s set to reprise his role as Saeki Nao in the upcoming Ao no Orchestra Season 2, steadily expanding his portfolio.”
Ura Kazuki, who won the Lead Voice Actor Award at the 2024 Seiyu Awards, continued his streak in 2025 with multiple hit roles. Comments included, “He voiced main characters like Luke in Zenshu., Ichinose Shiki in Tougen Anki, and Folo in Gachi Akuta. Other voice actors also garnered love: for Miyase Naoya, “His portrayal of Gilbert in Anne Shirley was charming,” and “His natural acting and soothing voice are a delight.” Nakayama Yoshinori earned praise with, “I became a fan through Tsumugi Rintaro in Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku—it’s amazing to learn it was his first lead.” For Saka Taito, readers said, “He handles the main character in Fermat no Ryouri, and even in supporting roles, his presence shines.”
