TV Anime Adaptation Officially Announced!
The TV anime adaptation for the hit series 『Bouken-sha License wo Hakudatsu Sareta Ossan dakedo, Aimusume ga Dekita node Nonbiri Jinsei wo Ouka Suru』 (which can be translated as “The Old Man Who Had His Adventurer License Revoked But Got a Beloved Daughter and Is Enjoying a Leisurely Life”) has been officially greenlit! To celebrate, the anime’s logo and a special announcement visual have been released.
About the Series
This beloved series originates from a GA Novel light novel written by Ononata Manimani-sensei with character designs by the incredible Fuji Choko-sensei. Often shortened by fans to simply “Bouken-sha License,” its popularity skyrocketed, leading to a manga adaptation with composition by Watanabe Itsuki-sensei and artwork by Tadaura Fumi-sensei. Combined, the franchise has sold over 2.2 million copies (including print and digital versions as of December 2025)!
A Heartwarming Adventure Story
The story follows Dagurasu, a man once revered as the strongest magician, a living legend. But time catches up with everyone; now referred to as an “ossan” (old man), his body has weakened, and his adventurer license has been revoked. As a wandering drifter, Dagurasu encounters Rabi, a girl burdened by a curse. With no family to call her own, Dagurasu decides to journey with her. Their days are filled with tackling difficult quests, helping people in the towns they visit, and sharing smiles over delicious meals. Deepening their bond like a true father and daughter, their heartwarming adventure continues each day.
New Key Visual & Logo Unveiled
The newly released special visual beautifully captures Rabi and the now-wandering Dagurasu bathed in the morning sun. Alongside this touching image, the official anime logo has also been revealed. Adding to the excitement, original author Ononata Manimani-sensei and character design illustrator Fuji Choko-sensei have shared celebratory comments and artwork!
