Great News for Witch Fans! A New Movie is on the Way
The magical journey of Elaina is continuing on the big screen! During the GA Fes 2026: GA 20th Anniversary event, a brand new anime movie for Majo no Tabitabi (also known as Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina) was officially announced. This is exciting news for fans who’ve followed the series since its light novel debut.
What We Know About the Project
The movie will be produced by the same studio behind the 2020 TV anime, C2C. The original television series, which adapted Jougi Shiraishi’s adventure fantasy light novels, aired for 12 episodes in the Fall 2020 season and was streamed internationally by Funimation.

The Majo no Tabitabi light novel series has a fascinating origin story. It first appeared as an e-book on Amazon’s Kindle service back in 2014. After initial sales stalled, author Jougi Shiraishi promoted it on the 2channel VIP bulletin board, successfully building a dedicated fanbase. This led SB Creative to pick it up for print under its GA Novel label in April 2016, with illustrations by Azure. The series is still going strong, with the 24th volume released in March 2025 and the 25th volume scheduled for March 14.
