About the Series
Osananajimi to wa Rabukome ni Naranai is a cutting-edge childhood friend love comedy based on the manga by Mitsure Shinya, serialized in Magazine Pocket. It depicts the sweet, frustrating, and hard-to-admit love affairs with childhood friends. The story follows high school freshman E-Yuu, aka Kaiyo Nosenosuke, who is obsessed with love comedies, especially those involving childhood friends. His biggest problem? His two childhood friends, Shio (Mizumo Shio) and Akari (Hi no Tomoshi), are just too cute. While E-Yuu is convinced that “in reality, you can’t make a love comedy with your childhood friend”, both Shio and Akari have their eyes set on him. With this setup, the series weaves a comical and delicate tale of love among childhood friends.
The TV anime is directed by Kuwahara Satoshi, with series composition by Hirota Mitsuki, scripts by Hirota and Morita Mayumi, character design and chief animation direction by Iwasaki Reina, and animation production by Tezuka Productions. The voice cast features Urao Gakudai as Kaiyo Nosenosuke, Kusumi Rin as Mizumo Shio, and Serizawa Yuu as Hi no Tomoshi, with Hiratsuka Sae as Tsukimi Run and Yamamoto Yuuki as Hinata Haru also joining the cast.
