A Dream Collaboration Takes Shape
Exciting new details have been revealed for the special collaboration between Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ and Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle-, including brand-new illustrated visuals and completely original collaborative songs.
About the Series
The Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji LOVE series, based on a popular game, has seen four TV anime series since 2011 and two theatrical anime films since 2019. Its latest film, Gekijouban Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ TABOO NIGHT XXXX, depicted the “new utopia” of the idol group QUARTET NIGHT, consisting of Eiji Kisaragi, Ranmaru Kurosaki, Ai Mikaze, and Camus.
Hypnosis Mic is a character rap project that launched in September 2017, featuring a total of 18 unique main characters engaged in heated rap battles. The film Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle-, released on February 21, 2025, was praised for its interactive experience where the story’s progression and ending could change based on audience choices during each screening.
These two series have collaborated in various ways before, such as at AnimeJapan stages and through mutual support trailers celebrating the hit releases of their respective films.
The Collaboration Details
The newly unveiled “specially drawn visual” features characters from both series forming 18 tag teams that cross franchise boundaries. The visual captures a special moment where the characters strike each other’s hand sign poses, a sight you can only see here. The first pair to be revealed is Otoaya Ichinosuke and Ichirou Yamada. All 18 tag team visuals will be released daily on both series’ official X (formerly Twitter) accounts.
A fusion of both series’ charms in a completely new collaborative song.
As for the “completely new collaborative songs,” a total of three tracks will be produced.
- Track 1: “Go the Route” by QUARTET NIGHT, MAD TRIGGER CREW, & Dotsuitare Honpo. It is scheduled for digital release on January 29, 2026.
- Track 2: “FLAG” by HE★VENS, Buster Bros!!!, & Bad Ass Temple.
- Track 3: “Rainbow Signs” by ST☆RISH, Fling Posse, & Matenrou.
The songs will be released sequentially in February and March, so stay tuned for further updates. A CD collecting all three new songs is also planned, so keep an eye out for that information as well.
