Winter Anime “Osananajimi to wa Love Comedy ni Naranai” Episode 2 Preview and Synopsis Revealed
From the winter anime Osananajimi to wa Love Comedy ni Naranai, the synopsis and preview screenshots for episode 2, “Man’in Basu demo Ame ni Nurete mo Suki ga Barete mo Akogarete mo Love Comedy ni Naranai” (No Love Comedy Even on a Crowded Bus, Even Getting Soaked in the Rain, Even If Your Feelings Are Exposed, Even If You Admire Someone), set to air starting Monday, January 12, 2026, have been released.

Osananajimi to wa Love Comedy ni Naranai (which can be translated as “You Can’t Have a Love Comedy With a Childhood Friend”) is a “cutting-edge childhood friend love comedy” based on the manga by Sanren Shinya, serialized on “Magazine Pocket”. It depicts the sweet, frustrating, and emotionally-stubborn romance between childhood friends. First-year high school student Kai Yonosuke, nicknamed “E-Yu”, is currently obsessed with love comedies, especially those involving childhood friends. His current problem? His two childhood friends, Mizumo Shio (“Shio”) and Hiatori Akari (“Akari”), are just too cute. E-Yu knows the rule that “in reality, you can’t have a love comedy with a childhood friend,” but the feelings of Shio and Akari are directed at him… This is the setup for a story that comically and delicately weaves the romantic entanglements of these childhood friends.
The TV anime is directed by Kuwahara Satoshi, with series composition by Hirota Mitsuki, scripts by Hirota and Morita Mayumi, and character design/chief animation direction by Iwasaki Rena. Animation production is handled by Tezuka Productions.

Episode 2 Synopsis: “No Love Comedy Even on a Crowded Bus…”

E-Yu and Shio end up on the same crowded bus. With their bodies pressed close in the cramped space and Shio looking fashionable as ever, E-Yu’s heart starts racing.

What action does E-Yu take to keep Shio from figuring out how he feels…?

That night—Shio peeks into Akari’s room for a “snack party,” only to overhear Akari looking at a photo of E-Yu on her phone and saying, “Why can’t I just be honest with myself…?”
