A Quick Flashback to the Magic of Sakura
For those who might be new to the magic, Kado Kyaputaa Sakura is the iconic manga created by the legendary artist group CLAMP. It was serialized in the monthly shoujo manga magazine Nakayoshi from June 1996 to August 2000. The original series spans 12 tankobon volumes, with a special 60th-anniversary edition compiled into 9 B6-sized volumes.
The story captured hearts anew in 2016, on the series’ 20th anniversary, with the launch of the sequel arc, Kurias Kaado Hen. This new chapter ran for seven and a half years, concluding with 80 chapters across 16 volumes.
The anime adaptation first aired on NHK from 1998 to 2000, covering the “Clow Card” and “Sakura Card” arcs. 2023 marked the anime’s 25th anniversary, and exciting news followed: the production of a sequel anime for the Kurias Kaado Hen has been officially announced!
