What is “Kaitou Saint Tail”?

For the uninitiated, Kaitou Saint Tail (which can be translated as “Mysterious Thief Saint Tail”) is a classic magical girl/romance series. It’s based on the manga by Tachikawa Megumi that ran in the monthly bible for young girls, Nakayoshi. The TV anime adaptation aired nationwide on the ABC/TV Asahi network from October 1995 to September 1996.

The series was directed by Nabeshima Osamu and produced by Kyokuchi Tokyo Movie (now known as TMS Entertainment). It boasted an all-star voice cast that brought the charming characters to life:
