The Boku no Hiirou Akademia 10th Anniversary Project Begins
On April 3, the hit TV anime Boku no Hiirou Akademia (also widely localized as My Hero Academia) officially turns 10 years old, marking a perfect decade since the premiere of its first season on this exact date. To celebrate this massive milestone, the Boku no Hiirou Akademia The Animation 10th Anniversary launch event took place, officially shifting the commemorative project into full gear. Fans were treated to the grand reveal of a spectacular 32-character key visual, alongside a brand new promotional artwork for the upcoming special episode “More,” which is scheduled to air on May 2. The broadcast was packed with highly anticipated announcements, ranging from cinematic theatrical screenings of iconic character dynamics to a massive all-star live music festival.
A Spectacular 10th Anniversary Key Visual
The official commemorative artwork was drawn from scratch by Umakoshi Yoshihiko, the veteran animator who has served as the lead character designer for the franchise since its television debut. This incredibly luxurious piece is the largest ensemble visual to date, bringing together a total of 32 beloved characters across the protagonist and antagonist lines. The illustration features all 21 students from Yuuei Koukou’s Hero Course Class A, five legendary Pro Heroes spearheaded by Ooru Maito, and the six core members of the Tekki Ren-gou (Villain Alliance) led by Shigaraki Tomura.

As a respectful tribute to the series’ origins, the background intentionally mirrors the exact layout and design of the original Season 1 key visual from 2016. The piece beautifully highlights the artistic evolution and technical polish the animation has undergone over the past decade. Moving forward, this artwork will serve as the official face of the anniversary campaign, appearing across promotional materials, advertising, and exclusive merchandise drops.
New Anime Episode “More” Reveals an 8-Year Time Skip
On May 2, a special broadcast episode titled “More” will air as a centerpiece of the anniversary celebrations. The episode adapts a newly drawn, exclusive chapter included in the manga’s final 42nd volume, directly from original creator Horikoshi Kouhei. A freshly unveiled visual showcases the main cast significantly older, depicting Midoriya Izuku, Bakugou Katsuki, Todoroki Shoutou, and Iida Tenya sprinting toward an emergency response site, with Uraraka Ochako and Asui Tsuyu following closely in pursuit. The accompanying catchphrase, “Even after eight years, they continue to reach out a hand,” perfectly encapsulates the enduring, unbreakable spirit of these heroes. It is a breathtaking snapshot of their growth that long-time fans will absolutely not want to miss.

Theatrical Character Matchup Screenings
Adding to the cinematic celebrations, a special theatrical initiative will bring carefully selected, fan-favorite episodes to cinemas across major Japanese hubs including Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. Kicking off on May 16, the event cycle will spotlight different iconic character dynamics across multiple screening blocks. The opening round focuses on the deeply compelling relationship between Uraraka Ochako and Toga Himiko. Theater attendees will also get a live stage greeting featuring the voice of Ochako, Sakura Ayane-san, and the voice of her thematic counterpart Toga, Fukuen Misato-san. The theatrical lineup will additionally include a screening of the new “More” episode. Official theater listings, ticket presale schedules, and details for future character matchups will be announced separately.
ANI-ROCK FES.2026: A Live Music Extravaganza

Mark your calendars for a massive two-day live celebration. On November 22 and 23, the ANI-ROCK FES.2026 Boku no Hiirou Akademia PLUS ULTRA LIVE will completely take over the First Gymnasium at Yoyogi National Stadium. The event promises a packed, high-energy setlist that seamlessly blends the anime’s legendary opening and ending themes with each performer’s signature original hits. Chart-topping artists will channel the “PLUS ULTRA” spirit to deliver a one-of-a-kind concert experience that cannot be replicated anywhere else. The official performing artist roster and priority ticket presale will launch on May 1 at 12:00 PM JST.
Official Merchandise & Global Expansion

The anniversary festivities extend far beyond the screen and stage. The official anime brand TOHO animation will release a rotating lineup of commemorative goods each month. Furthermore, starting April 3 at 21:00 JST, the official broadcast channel will host a limited-time free streaming marathon, rolling out Seasons 1 through 3 sequentially for fans to completely rewatch or experience from the beginning.

The “Boku no Hiirou Akademia Animate” campaign will bring exclusive 10th-anniversary promotions to all Animate retail storefronts and their official online shop. On the international front, the orchestral and stage performance series “Boku no Hiirou Akademia in Concert” will officially expand overseas, beginning with a live performance on May 31 at Pacifico Yokohama’s Grand Hall. Finally, for mobile gamers, the highly anticipated application title Boku no Hiirou Akademia UNITED SURVIVAL (affectionately known by fans as HeroSaba) remains in final development and is slated for a global release soon.
