Seki Tomokazu × Hanazawa Kana Perform a Two-Person Play as Lovers! Key Visual & Comments Released for Stage Play “Hibi, Hibi” – “We Will Take on the Challenge by Relying on Each Other”

The key visual for the stage play “Hibi, Hibi” starring Seki Tomokazu and Hanazawa Kana has been unveiled. Along with the two leads, comments have arrived from scriptwriter Iijima Sanae and director Nosaka Minoru. The play will be performed at CBGK Shibugeki!! on June 27 (Sat) and June 28 (Sun), 2026.

“Hibi, Hibi” is a completely new work by popular playwright Iijima Sanae. This time it is directed by Nosaka Minoru, known for stage productions like Beautiful Sunday and the reading drama series Arsène Lupin.

The story unfolds in a woman’s room, centering on two people: Kiichi (him) and Kaname (her). In Kiichi’s hands is a gift for Kaname. What is their relationship? Lovers? Husband and wife? Friends? Secret lovers? Enemies? Comrades? Someone nostalgic, or a complete stranger… or perhaps…

Kaname’s past is tightly sealed, while Kiichi desperately tries to dig it up. Day by day, the two work to piece together their cracked memories. A memory mystery in which conversation transforms into a deadly weapon — who will be dragged down into the abyss?

“Three years ago, a sudden idea led me to invite Hanazawa Kana-san and we performed Pas de deux. It was a short run, but an extremely exciting production. At that time, the playwright Iijima Sanae-sensei came to see it, and I asked if she would write a new piece for the two of us. Now, once again, it will be just Hanazawa-san and me on stage. We’ll rely on each other and take on Iijima-sensei’s new work. I think this production will be even more thrilling than the last. Hanazawa Kana

“This is my second two-person play with Seki-san. I’m so happy to have another chance to share the stage with him! Just imagining the actual performance makes me nervous already… But on top of that, this script was written specifically for us by Iijima Sanae-sensei. It’s such a luxury! What kind of relationship do Kiichi and Kaname have? Kaname’s words and actions keep changing how she comes across, so I hope you all will join Kiichi in being swept along by her!”

Iijima Sanae (Scriptwriter)

To make it even more captivating, I wondered: what kind of people, what kind of relationship, what kind of story should they perform? Lovers? Best friends? Enemies? Nosaka Minoru (Director)
