The court medical fantasy manga “Gekkakoku Kiden” (月華国奇医伝) by Himuka Tooru, currently serialized in ASUKA, is getting a TV anime adaptation. Set in the fictional kingdom of Gekkakoku, where herbal medicine is the norm, the story follows Koyo, a girl skilled in surgical procedures, and her chaotic meeting with crown prince Keiun.

To mark the announcement, a teaser visual and teaser PV have been released. The main staff and cast have also been revealed, with animation production handled by Studio El. The cast includes Rina Hidaka as Koyo, Takeo Ootsuka as Keiun, Taichi Sakamoto as Shingudamu, and Shoya Chiba as Tokie.

A campaign is also underway: follow the official X account (@gekkakoku_pj) and repost the designated post. Ten winners will receive a postcard featuring a commemorative illustration by original creator Himuka Tooru. Entry period runs from May 22, 2026 (Fri) to June 19, 2026 (Fri) 23:59 JST.
