Soft cookies featuring characters from the TV anime Akane-banashi have been announced, each packaged with a metallic plackard card. The product is now available for pre-order exclusively from the Candy Online Shop within Premium Bandai, in a 20-cookie BOX.
“Akane-banashi Card Soft Cookies”
Based on the manga by Suehiro Yuki and Maeda Takashi serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, Akane-banashi began airing as a TV anime in April 2026. The story follows Sakurazaka Akane, who grew up watching her rakugo storyteller father Arakawa Shinta and was captivated by his magic-like performances. After witnessing a shocking event at his crucial promotion performance, six years later Akane is now a high school student aiming for the highest rank of “shin’uchi” in the rakugo world. The series is a full-fledged rakugo tale where performers compete in the art of storytelling.
Directed by Watanabe Ayumu and produced by animation studio Zexcs, the cast includes Nagase Anna as Sakurazaka Akane, Eguchi Takuya as Renma-ya Karashi, Takahashi Rie as Takaragi Hikaru, Shio no Akihisa as Arakawa Kaisei, and Fukuyama Jun as Arakawa Shinta (Sakurazaka Toru). Other cast members include Shimazaki Nobunaga as Arakawa Maikeru, Kobayashi Chiaki as Arakawa Koguma, Azakami Yohei as Arakawa Kyoji, Yamashita Seiichiro as Arakawa Guriko, Terasoma Masaki as Arakawa Shiguma, and Otsuka Akio as Arakawa Issei.
