The original content series ‘Educational Program’ (Kyōiku Bangumi) is releasing its first photo book featuring the main character Tama. Scheduled for release on August 12, 2026 (Wednesday), the book will be accompanied by a special handover event with Tama himself.

Created by the artist Momonikusu, ‘Educational Program’ is an original concept centered on a ‘nonexistent educational program’. With a cute and laid-back visual style, the series uses dark humor to tackle everyday anxieties and struggles, gaining a strong following on social media.
The main characters are Tama, a shy, negative but proud seal; Paul, an energetic octopus living in Tama’s house; and Hakase, a know-it-all character from Tama’s computer.
Now, Tama’s first photo book, titled ‘Educational Program Tama 1st Photo Book: Genjitsu Touhi’, has been announced. The book features eight photographers from various genres, capturing Tama in unique ways.

The lineup includes comedian Kaga Sho of the comedy duo Kagaya, war photographer Yoichi Watanabe, children’s photo studio Tamahiyo Photo Studio, street snap photographer Anonymous, host cameraman MisaSohma (Kabukicho studioAria), wedding photo studio Kinoshita Rei (Decolte Co., Ltd.), landscape photographer Dai, and artist Cent Chihiro Chitchi. Together, they present never-before-seen moments of Tama ‘escaping reality’.
Tama himself commented, ‘おれの ためだけに いろんな おとなが うごきすぎじゃ ないですか？’ (Aren’t too many adults moving just for me?).

To celebrate the photo book’s release, a handover event will be held where Tama personally hands over copies. The event will also feature a special talk session with war photographer Yoichi Watanabe.

The photo book is currently available for pre-order on Amazon and other online bookstores from June 1, 2026 (Monday). Additionally, Amazon, Rakuten Books, Seven Net Shopping, and Animate Online Shopping offer a limited edition that includes a randomly sealed trading card (2 types).
