Fans of the legendary sweeper Ryo Saeba can look forward to a brand-new pop-up store experience. The “CITY HUNTER POP UP STORE -Midnight Rendezvous-” is headed to Hands Omiya, taking over the 5th floor from June 20 (Saturday) to July 20 (Monday, holiday) in 2026.
2025 marked the 40th anniversary of the original comic, which has now surpassed 50 million copies in cumulative circulation. The franchise remains as popular as ever, especially after the 2024 Netflix live-action film—starring Suzuki Ryohei as Ryo Saeba and Morita Mochi as Kaori Makimura—brought the story of their early partnership to a new generation. Set in modern Shinjuku, the film became an instant hit worldwide.
Midnight Rendezvous Theme
This year’s pop-up is once again produced by the popular “Hakaba no Garon” (Graveyard Gallery) series. The theme is “Midnight Rendezvous,” capturing the urban nightlife of 1980s Shinjuku—neon-lit streets, disco balls, and the exhilarating energy of nightclubs. The decor and merchandise aim to immerse visitors in a stylish, adult world where nostalgia meets modern cool.

A wide array of original new goods will be available, blending urban 80s fashion icons with a refined, sophisticated look. Past popular items have also been revamped for a chic, mature audience.
Among the highlights is the 2026 model T-shirt boldly featuring the pop-up’s theme, “Midnight Rendezvous.” Another T-shirt captures a fleeting moment of Ryo waiting for someone, designed for grown-ups. Additionally, a retro-futuristic T-shirt shows Kaori descending into the night city, evoking 80s aesthetics.
The “Black & White Long-Sleeve T-Shirt” is a one-color print on a black body, emphasizing a hard-boiled design.
For colder days, the “Midnight Rendezvous Zip-Up Hoodie” features the event’s catchy phrase prominently. This limited-edition design is a must-have for fans.
No City Hunter fan should miss the official sunglasses. The simple Wellington-type silhouette suits everyone, with the City Hunter logo discreetly engraved on the temples.
The eco bag features a playful all-over print with iconic City Hunter illustrations in popping neon colors. It offers ample capacity plus a mesh pocket on the front for daily convenience.
A new color version of the LED neon sign replicating the City Hunter logo will also be sold, condensing the glow of Shinjuku’s nightscape into a decorative item.
Other accessories include a clear multipurpose pouch mixing cool and comedic elements, a keychain featuring Ryo’s beloved car’s license plate number, and an all-over patterned handkerchief with cute deformed illustrations.
One special item is the “Shaka Shaka Acrylic Keychain,” which shows an angry Kaori in close-up while Ryo’s lecherous antics and the iconic “Mokkori” and hammer shake inside the transparent case.
Blind acrylic stickers come in 12 types, each depicting memorable manga panels, allowing fans to decorate their belongings with City Hunter flair.
