The production committee for the upcoming ice show “Touken Ranbu – ICE BLADE -“ has released a newly drawn character visual titled Kashuu Kiyomitsu: Image on Ice ver.. The illustration was created especially for the performance by the original staff of the hit browser game “Touken Ranbu ONLINE”.
“Touken Ranbu ONLINE” is a sword-training simulation game that has surpassed 14 million total users. In the game, players become the “Saniwa” (inspector) and lead the “Touken Danshi” – legendary swords transformed into warriors – to protect history. Players collect and raise eight types of swords (short, wakizashi, uchigatana, tachi, nodachi, naginata, yari, and ken) and form their own units to conquer various battlefields.
The newly unveiled visual depicts Kashuu Kiyomitsu, an uchigatana said to have been forged by Kiyomitsu of Kaga Province. He is best known as the beloved sword of Shinsengumi First Squad Captain Okita Souji, reputedly wielded during the fierce fighting of the Ikedaya Incident. His blade is renowned for its sharpness and rare beauty. True to his iconic line, “I make myself cute, so take good care of me,” Kashuu always pays close attention to his grooming and polishes himself to be loved by his master. Beneath his flashy appearance lies the hot pride of a blade that cut through turbulent times. In this illustration, he carves a supreme moment where cuteness and sharpness meet on the new stage of the silver rink.
The ice show “Touken Ranbu – ICE BLADE -“ will be held on October 3 (Sat) and October 4 (Sun), 2026, at the National Yoyogi Stadium First Gymnasium. Tickets are available in advance lottery until June 14 (Sun) at 23:59. Prices are 19,000 yen (tax included) for reserved seats and 4,000 yen (tax included) for arena seats.

Story
In the year 2205, the world is attacked by “History Revisionists” who seek to alter the past. The Time Government dispatches the “Saniwa” (inspector), who can awaken the spirits of sleeping objects and grant them the power to fight. This power manifests the “Touken Danshi” – swords turned warriors – and they throw themselves into battles to protect history.
In a certain honmaru protected by the five elemental shrines (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water), a special duty is carried out: monitoring “false texts” that distort and devour history. One day, a five-headed dragon (Goryuu) suddenly attacks the honmaru, destroying the shrines and scattering the five elemental spirits into the false texts. At that moment, an ice spirit awakens in the depths of the honmaru…
Can Mikazuki Munechika and the others save the elemental spirits from the distorted history called “false history”? The new battle of the Touken Danshi, the “Ice Blade,” begins.
