The Apothecary Diaries Original Novel Exhibition Opens at Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse with New Merchandise Including Maomao and Jinshi Plushies

The special exhibition “Novel ‘The Apothecary Diaries’ Original Exhibition: Poison and Medicine, Science and Mystery” opened on June 5, 2026, at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse in Kanagawa. Fresh content and merchandise have been introduced for this Yokohama venue, including new plushies of Maomao and Jinshi.

“The Apothecary Diaries” (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) is a light novel series written by Natsu Hyuuga with illustrations by Touco Shino, published by Imagic Infos under the Hero Bunko label. Widely credited as a pioneer of the current “harem boom,” the story follows Maomao, a young girl serving as a poison taster in the imperial court, as she solves a variety of complex mysteries. The series has amassed over 45 million copies in print across its two manga adaptations (from Square Enix and Shogakukan). A TV anime adaptation aired its first two seasons, with a third season scheduled for October 2026, and the franchise’s first theatrical film set for December 2026.

This exhibition focuses on the original novels, diving deep into the world created by author Natsu Hyuuga and brought to life by Touco Shino’s illustrations. Visitors pass through a noren (curtain) display to enter the story world.

Natsu Hyuuga’s commentary notes are a must-see.

The exhibition offers a special space to experience the novel’s themes—poison and medicine, science and mystery—from multiple angles.

A corner recreates Natsu Hyuuga’s writing desk, and there is also a photo spot where fans can take commemorative pictures with Maomao.

Following the Tokyo Skytree venue in December 2025, the Yokohama edition introduces new attractions: an official “writing record” (not a catalog), a newly written short story titled “The Mysterious Box” with related exhibits, and explanatory comments from illustrator Touco Shino.

New merchandise debuting at the Yokohama venue includes plushies, tote bags, big acrylic stands, and clear files. The 80-page official writing record boasts a lavish binding and is a must-have for fans.

Admission benefits include an A6-size notebook exclusive to the exhibition, while those who purchase merch will receive a Yokohama-exclusive clear card.

At the entrance of the Red Brick Warehouse, Maomao and Jinshi greet visitors.

The Yokohama exhibition runs from June 5 to June 21, 2026. Opening hours are 11:00–19:00 (last entry 30 minutes before closing). The venue is Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Building 1, 2F Exhibition Space (1-1 Shinko, Naka-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa). The event is organized by Tohan Co., Ltd., with cooperation from Imagic Infos, ADK Emotions, and ADK Creative One.

Normal tickets are available via Lawson Ticket, while event-exclusive goods-included tickets are sold at the Hero Bunko STORE. For details, visit the official website.
