こにゃにゃちわー! Kero-chan from Cardcaptor Sakura is getting a cute new plush that doubles as a desk buddy. The ‘Funbaruzu Kero-chan’ is now accepting pre-orders on Premium Bandai.
The concept behind the ‘Funbaruzu’ (from ‘funbaru’ meaning to brace oneself) line is ’round, cat-like animals that brace themselves so they don’t fall off your desk.’ By sandwiching it between your desk and your stomach, it can help you maintain a better posture and also provides a fluffy, comforting feel.
Cardcaptor Sakura originally ran in the monthly shoujo manga magazine Nakayoshi from June 1996 to August 2000. The story follows Kinomoto Sakura, who becomes a ‘Cardcaptor’ to collect the mysterious Clow Cards that bring disasters. The manga was compiled into 12 volumes, and later a 9-volume re-edited edition for Nakayoshi‘s 60th anniversary. The anime aired on NHK from 1998 to 2000, with the first two seasons covering the ‘Clow Card arc’ and the third season the ‘Sakura Card arc.’ In 2016, a new sequel series, Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, began, running for 80 chapters (16 volumes) over seven and a half years. An anime sequel for the Clear Card arc has been announced following the franchise’s 25th anniversary in 2023.
This Funbaruzu Kero-chan plush is approximately H200×W190×D110mm and costs 3,850 yen (tax included). Pre-orders are open until June 28, 2026 at 23:00 JST, with shipments scheduled for July 2026. It is available exclusively at the shopぬい Premium Bandai store.
