Dengeki Daisy TV Anime Adaptation Announced for 2027; Teaser Visual, Staff Revealed

Saifu Kyousuke’s manga Dengeki Daisy is officially getting a TV anime adaptation, set to air in 2027. The announcement came with a teaser visual and staff details, as well as congratulatory comments from the original creator.

The series will be directed by Ueno Souta, with animation production by Studio Deen. Series composition is handled by Hirabayashi Sawako, character design by Murakami Sayaka, and music by Yokoyama Masaru.

Originally serialized in Shogakukan’s shoujo manga magazine Betsucomi from 2007 to 2013, Dengeki Daisy has sold over 5 million copies worldwide. The story follows high school girl Kurebayashi Teru, who loses her only brother and finds solace in mysterious email messages from someone calling themselves “DAISY.” One day, after breaking a window, she ends up as the servant of school janitor Kurosaki Yuu—a harsh-tongued but oddly protective man whose presence sets Teru’s fate in motion.

The newly released teaser visual prominently features Teru, Kurosaki, and the iconic blue daisy at the heart of the story.

Main Staff

  • Director: Ueno Souta
  • Series Composition: Hirabayashi Sawako
  • Character Design: Murakami Sayaka
  • Music: Yokoyama Masaru
  • Animation Production: Studio Deen

To celebrate the anime adaptation, Saifu Kyousuke himself contributed a newly drawn illustration of Teru and Kurosaki, along with a message. “To think that I’d live to see the day when Teru and Kurosaki move on screen… I can’t wait for the 2027 broadcast. To all the anime staff, please take good care of Daisy,” said the manga creator.

Director Ueno Souta

“I want to depict how we carry everything together—the trivial and the precious, wounds that can’t be understood, unforgivable pasts, and unforgiven pasts—through every moment, time after time.”

Series Composition: Hirabayashi Sawako

“Feature phones (the so-called ‘garakei’) were a symbol of the 2000s, I think. The text displayed on that small screen left a unique impression unlike computer emails, and I believe there were feelings that could only be conveyed that way. This story begins with a secret connection through such a phone. I hope both long-time fans and first-time viewers enjoy it.”

Character Design: Murakami Sayaka

“I’m Murakami Sayaka, in charge of character design. I’m truly honored to be given the role of character design in bringing Saifu Kyousuke-sensei’s world of Dengeki Daisy to life as a TV anime. The staff and I are working hard, through trial and error, to create visuals that meet fans’ expectations. Please look forward to future updates!”

Music: Yokoyama Masaru

“As I spoke with director Ueno, the uniqueness of the world he wanted to create came through powerfully—and not just a little. To realize that vision, I decided that recording and mixing had to be done in a place with distinctive musical character, like Iceland. I brought back the atmosphere of a blizzard. I’m excited to see how this artful music will blend with the series.”

Dengeki Daisy TV anime is scheduled for a 2027 broadcast. Stay tuned for more updates on this unpredictable love suspense story that begins with a single email.
