The TV anime adaptation of Kagurabachi is set to begin broadcasting in April 2027. Following the earlier announcement, a new character visual and a character PV for the protagonist, Rokuhira Chihiro—voiced by Kimura Taibi—have been released.
Kagurabachi is a sword-fighting battle action series based on the manga by Hokazono Ken, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. The manga has surpassed 4 million copies in cumulative circulation (including digital editions). The anime is directed by Takeuchi Tetsuya, with animation production by Cypic. The cast includes Kimura Taibi as Rokuhira Chihiro.
The story follows a young boy named Rokuhira Chihiro who dreams of becoming a swordsmith. His peaceful days with his renowned father, Kunishige, are brutally shattered by an attack from the mysterious sorcery organization known as “Hishaku.” Six “cursed swords” possessing immense power that can sway the fate of the nation—and a warm, everyday life—are stolen. From that day, Chihiro is left in a world shrouded in darkness. Taking up the seventh cursed sword, “Enten,” left by his father, he sets out on a blood-soaked path of revenge.
In the newly released character visual and PV, Rokuhira Chihiro appears with a piercing gaze that seems to cut through the viewer. The character PV features him clad in a jet-black coat, accompanied by a black goldfish. His line, “I can’t stand by and let scum like you wield a sword…” carries an unwavering conviction and the resolve to bear everything. The visual exudes a quiet yet overwhelming presence, foreshadowing the grand battle about to unfold.
