Fans of The Apothecary Diaries and COSMOS have something special to look forward to. To celebrate the simultaneous release of the latest volumes of both manga series, a special campaign will offer exclusive collaboration illustration cards at select bookstores nationwide starting June 18, 2026.
Collaboration Illustration Cards
The campaign features newly drawn collaboration illustration cards. COSMOS creator Tamura Ryohei has drawn Maomao and Jinshi from The Apothecary Diaries, while Kurata Minoshi, the artist behind the Sunday GX manga adaptation of The Apothecary Diaries, has drawn Rin and Suimori from COSMOS. These rare cards are sized to fit inside a smartphone case.
Tamura’s card features a metallic finish, while Kurata’s card uses a washi paper-like texture, each designed to match the world of its respective series.
About the Series
The Apothecary Diaries is a light novel series by Natsu Hyuuga (original story) with illustrations by Touko Shino, published under Imagica Infos’ Hero Bunko imprint. It follows Maomao, a young girl who works as a poison taster in the imperial court and solves various mysteries. The series has two manga adaptations, one from Square Enix and one from Shogakukan. The TV anime is set to air its third season in October 2026, and the first theatrical film is scheduled for December 2026.
COSMOS is a manga by Tamura Ryohei, serialized in Monthly Sunday Gene-X and on the web manga site Sunday Webry since 2023. It is a sci-fi human drama about an insurance company that specializes in aliens, and it won the 71st Shogakukan Manga Award.
Campaign Details
From June 18, 2026, customers who purchase either The Apothecary Diaries ~Maomao’s Imperial Court Mystery Notebook~ Volume 22 or COSMOS Volume 9 at participating bookstores will receive one of the collaboration illustration cards as a gift. The cards are available while supplies last.
