The key visual for Cyborg 009 Nemesis has been unveiled, along with the announcement that all three episodes will begin streaming on July 19, 2026. The opening theme song “Dare ga Tame ni” by Anzu will also be released on CD the same day.
The original Cyborg 009 series, created by Ishimori Shoutarou, follows 009 (Shimamura Joe) and eight other 00-number cyborgs who escape from the evil organization Black Ghost after being surgically modified into weapons of war. They fight to eliminate conflict from the world. The manga first launched in Shounen King on July 19, 1964, and ran across multiple magazines for over 30 years, spawning anime and film adaptations. It became a lifelong work for Ishimori.
For more than half a century, the cyborg warriors have protected people from various threats to peace. Yet the battle continues. Now, a new group of nine cyborgs called “Nemesis” has appeared, believing that the 00-number team can no longer bring peace to the world. Led by N009/Graviton, who controls gravity, this new faction aims to reshape the world with their own ideals. Will we witness a generational shift?
The newly released key visual brings together both sides: the 00-number cyborgs who have long supported world peace from the shadows, and the members of Nemesis, who seek to change the world with new power. The design is lavish and tense, hinting at a 9 vs. 9 battle between the two cyborg groups. Fans can anticipate an intense clash that pushes the cyborg warriors beyond their limits.
All three episodes will be streamed at once on July 19. Available platforms include ABEMA Premium, dAnime Store, U-NEXT, Anime Houdai, Prime Video, DMM TV, FOD, Hulu, Bandai Channel, J:COM STREAM, TELASA, milplus, and Furatto Douga.
