A new concept room stay plan inspired by the world of the TV anime Ranma 1/2 is coming to the Sunshine City Prince Hotel in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. Themed around “Showa summer,” the plan recreates the living room of the Tendo family, a central setting in the series. The collaboration will be available from July 25 to October 24, 2026.

Concept Room
Ranma 1/2 is a martial arts romantic comedy manga by Takahashi Rumiko, serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1987 to 1996. The series is also known for works such as Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, Inuyasha, Kyoukai no Rinne, and MAO. The current anime adaptation, produced by MAPPA under director Uda Kounosuke, is a “completely new animation” that began airing its first season in October 2024. The cast includes Yamauchi Kappei as Saotome Ranma, Hayashibara Megumi as Ranma (female form), and Hidaka Noriko as Tendou Akane, all reprising their roles from the original series. The second season aired from October 2025 on Nippon TV, and the third season is set to begin in October 2026.
The concept room at Sunshine City Prince Hotel is designed to let guests immerse themselves in the series’ world. The interior recreates the Tendo family living room, decorated with characters from the Tendo and Saotome families. In addition to the living room, the changing room area also features the distinctive characters, with the entire room expressing the atmosphere of Ranma 1/2.

Amenities

Collaboration Drink (1 type)
Alongside the concept room stay plan, a newly drawn illustration shows Ranma (male), Ranma (female), Akane, and Shampoo enjoying handheld fireworks in the Tendo family garden. The design is linked to the Japanese-style room, allowing guests to feel even more immersed in the series’ world.
Additional offerings include various original amenities, a collaboration drink inspired by the scene where Ranma transforms into his female form after being splashed with water, and a drink order bonus.
