New merchandise from the TV anime Gintama has been announced: a jinbei (traditional summer kimono) featuring the iconic “Gin” mark of Yorozuya Gin-chan, and a reel keyholder designed after the beloved dog Sadaharu. Both items are scheduled for release in early October 2026 and are now available for pre-order at the COSPA online shop and other retailers.
Gintama is set in an Edo period transformed by the sudden arrival of aliens (Amanto). The series blends side-splitting comedy, action, human emotion, and bonds, earning a lasting fanbase. The TV anime originally aired from 2006 over 13 years, concluding with episode 367 in October 2018. The franchise also includes theatrical films: Gintama: The Movie (2010), Gintama: The Final Chapter – Be Forever Yorozuya (2013) written by creator Hideaki Sorachi, and Gintama THE FINAL (2021) adapting the manga’s ending. Most recently, New Theatrical Edition Gintama -Yoshiwara in Flames- was released on February 13, 2026, presenting the popular “Yoshiwara in Flames” arc in widescreen CinemaScope.
The jinbei comes in two colors: black and navy. Its design prominently features the “Gin” mark, making it a recommended choice for summer festivals or humid Japanese evenings.
The fabric uses “shijira-ori” weaving, which resists sticking to the skin and offers excellent breathability. The shoulder-to-sleeve seams incorporate a herringbone-style finish for added ventilation. The top has one pocket and the pants have two, allowing storage for a smartphone or wallet. Side slits improve mobility, and the pants feature an elastic waistband with a drawcord for a comfortable fit on various body types. Suitable not only as loungewear but also for evening outings or walks.
Also launching is the “Sadaharu Reel Keyholder,” a practical item with a reel that extends up to approximately 50 cm. It features a gunmetal coating on a COSPA-original shape, manufactured in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, an area renowned for its metalworking expertise.
The keyholder can conveniently hold keys and also includes a strap hole for attaching additional keychains, allowing for personal customization. It can be used together with separately sold COSPA pass case series.
