The summer anime Otome Kaijuu Caramelize has released a synopsis and scene cuts for episode 1, titled “Otome Kaijuu Tokyo ni Arawaru” (The Maiden Monster Appears in Tokyo), which begins airing on July 2, 2026.

Based on the manga by Aoki Spica, which has been serialized in Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Alive since 2018 and has sold over 230,000 copies, Otome Kaijuu Caramelize is a romantic comedy. The story follows high school girl Kuroe (Akaishi Kuroe), who suffers from a mysterious illness that causes parts of her body to suddenly transform into something monstrous. She has lived a solitary life, avoiding others, until she catches the attention of the most popular boy in class, Minami Ninta. But when she realizes her feelings, a dormant power awakens within her. Love and reason clash in a shocking twist that defies the conventions of shoujo manga.
