During the Animate Presents: ALIEN STAGE panel at Anime Expo 2026, it was announced that an anime adaptation of Vivinos and Qmeng’s multimedia project Alien Stage is currently in production.
The original 12-episode sci-fi music drama was produced by LICO and aired on YouTube from September 2022 to June 2025. A spin-off series titled Zombie Stage began on June 26. Additionally, various short webcomics have been published via Patreon and X (formerly Twitter) since March 2023.
Synopsis
Humanity once believed Earth was the center of the universe, with some turning to religion for salvation. After aliens enslaved humanity, that faith vanished. Now humans are property of aliens, and a popular entertainment trend involves entering pet humans into a deadly singing competition called Alien Stage. In this reality show, alien sponsors show off their investments while human contestants fight for survival. Regardless of the relationship between opponents—love, hate, or something more extreme—only one can survive each round.
