Sanrio’s popular boy character unit Hapidanbui is joining forces with sandwich chain Subway for the first time. The collaboration, titled “Hapi Sub Summer!” (はぴサブサマー！), will run from July 8 to August 31, 2026, at Subway locations nationwide (excluding some stores in leisure facilities).
Hapidanbui is a six-member unit consisting of Sanrio male characters: Pochacco, Tuxedosam, Kerokerokeroppi, Bad Badtz-Maru, Hangyodon, and Pekkle. Their motto is “With everyone, anything is daijoubu (okay)!” and they are known for their lively, fun activities.
For this collaboration, Subway will offer three special sets that include a sandwich, potato S, and a drink S, plus a random original Hapidanbui item. The sets come in a limited-edition Hapidanbui paper bag. The three sandwich options are:
- Ebitama (shrimp and egg salad with chipotle sauce)
- BLT (smoked pork belly bacon and semi-dry sausage with Caesar dressing)
- Salad Chicken (with honey mustard and whole-grain mustard)
During the first wave starting July 8, customers will receive an acrylic keychain (one of four random designs) with each set purchase.
The Ebitama sandwich features egg salad with shrimp and a smoky, spicy chipotle sauce.
The BLT offers a combination of smoked bacon and semi-dry sausage, recommended with Caesar dressing.
The Salad Chicken pairs a light chicken salad with honey mustard and whole-grain mustard for a balanced sweet and tangy flavor.
Original goods are available while stocks last at each store. A second wave is also planned, with details to be announced later.
