Summer 2026 anime Youjo Senki II has released the synopsis and preview cuts for its first episode, “Salamander Combat Group,” which will air on July 8, 2026.
Youjo Senki is a military fantasy based on the novel series by Carlo Zen, which has surpassed 12 million copies in circulation. The story follows a rationalist elite salaryman reincarnated as the blonde, blue-eyed young girl Tanya Degurechaff (voiced by Aoi Yuuki) in another world. Despite her cute appearance, she rises to become an elite mage officer feared as the “Devil of the Battlefield.” The series is known for its authentic aerial combat scenes and gained popularity as an isekai work. The first TV anime season aired in 2017, followed by a film in 2019.
Season 2, Youjo Senki II, is directed by Yuki Yamamoto with animation production by NUT. Set in Unified Year 1926, autumn, Lieutenant Colonel Tanya von Degurechaff is appointed commander of the newly formed Salamander Combat Group and once again thrown into the brutal front lines. The combat group, though appearing elite, is in reality a ragtag assembly. Tanya roars at the absurd reality, and the early winter of the Federation only adds to the pressure. The Empire struggles in a quagmire with no exit. Each nation seeks an overwhelming victory to end everything, but no one knows what they truly desire or what it really means. Inevitably, Tanya continues to stand on the turbulent front line.
Episode 1: “Salamander Combat Group”
Unified Year 1926, autumn. The flames of war still burn the world. The Empire is in a situation of being surrounded on all sides.
Above all, the Eastern Front. The Salamander Combat Group led by Lieutenant Colonel Tanya von Degurechaff is also deployed to that Eastern Front.
The first episode of Youjo Senki II, “Salamander Combat Group,” will air on July 8 (Wednesday) on AT-X, TOKYO MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, BS11, and TV Aichi.
