McDonald’s Japan and Pokémon are joining forces for a special summer collaboration dubbed “Pokémon Summer Mac,” celebrating McDonald’s 55th anniversary and Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. The campaign will bring exclusive products and experiences to customers nationwide, promising excitement for fans of all ages.

As part of the collaboration, approximately 3,000 McDonald’s locations across Japan will temporarily become PokéStops in Pokémon GO, marking the first official partnership between the two in about six years. This also coincides with the 10th anniversary of Pokémon GO in 2026.
The “Pokémon Summer Mac” promotion will roll out in multiple phases starting from mid-July 2026, including the “Tokuninarudo-hen,” “Summer Chance Bag-hen,” “Burger-hen,” and “Happy Set-hen.” Each phase will introduce new menu items and special merchandise, with further details to be announced in the coming weeks.
Fans can look forward to seeing Pikachu and the original starter trio—Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle—featured throughout the campaign. The collaboration aims to deliver a summer full of fun and surprises for both Pokémon trainers and McDonald’s enthusiasts.
