The summer anime Yoroi Shinden Samurai Trooper aired its 15th episode, titled “Kyōen,” on July 21, 2026. Following the defeat of the demon emperor Rama Ga three months prior, a new threat emerges from the Tenkai Realm, forcing the four Samurai Troopers to ally with the former Ten Warriors—Sasuke and his group. This episode dives deep into the bonds between the “Name Group” (名前組) and the fallen “Surname Group” (苗字組), leaving fans in tears.

So That Was a Keepsake…
Early in the episode, a brief exchange between Ryūsei and Shion caught viewers’ attention. When Shion tries to return the Flash Sword to Ryūsei, the latter reacts with a start. Fans hoped this meant Ryūsei still harbors memories of his past as a comrade. “He reacted to the Flash Sword… Ryūsei, come back to us…” one viewer commented.

The spotlight then shifts to Sasuke, who, as the demon realm begins to collapse, rushes back to retrieve a single guitar. Flashbacks show the “Name Group” and “Surname Group” happily playing music together. “Sasuke is truly a man who cares for his comrades,” a fan wrote. The guitar later turns out to be a keepsake from Nezu, who taught Sasuke to play as a way to escape reality.

After escaping to the human world, the former Ten Warriors settle at the DST base, where they devour strange cup noodles with gusto—much to the amusement of viewers. “Their taste buds are definitely still on the demon side!” someone laughed. Yet beneath the lighthearted moments, the weight of the past lingers.

Sasuke delivers an emotional speech about each member of the Surname Group: Nezu, who loved music; Unno, who watched over them; Kakei, the quiet busybody; Mochizuki, who cried at every loss; and Anayama, who avenged him without hesitation. “Sasuke never forgot them,” a fan said, moved to tears. The Surname Group’s souls, it is revealed, have been living inside Gai all along, and they help free him from Rama Ga’s lingering influence.

When Gai tells Sasuke that the Surname Group’s spirits are within him, Sasuke initially doubts—until he receives a message from Nezu through Gai: “Thank you for taking care of my instrument.” The guitar Sasuke retrieved is indeed Nezu’s keepsake. Sasuke turns away, crying, and viewers joined him. “I can’t stop crying,” many wrote. The episode ends with the Ten Warriors officially joining forces with the Samurai Troopers, but a mysterious secret meeting between Shion and Ryūsei hints at future conflict.
