Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, and other beloved Sanrio characters are getting a sweet new merchandise item: a charm shaped like a “Tuncalon” (a Korean-style oversized macaron) paired with a fluffy gummy candy. The product, titled “Sanrio Characters Tuncalon & Fuwamogiu Gummy,” will be available at mass retailers nationwide from January 2027.
The Tuncalon craze originated in South Korea, where these “evolved macarons” are larger than traditional macarons and packed with cream and fruit. Now, Sanrio has transformed the trend into a collectible charm, with each character featuring a differently colored cream and a cute chocolate plate.
The lineup includes nine colorful varieties in total: Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, Kuromi, Pompompurin, Pochacco, Bad Badtz-Maru, Hangyodon, and one secret character. Each charm comes with a white soda-flavored aerated gummy candy called “Fuwamogiu Gummy,” which promises a light, chewy texture.
This release follows the results of the 2026 Sanrio Character Ranking, where Pompompurin took first place with a record-breaking 70,647,379 votes, Cinnamoroll came second, Pochacco third, Kuromi fourth, and Hello Kitty fifth. The enduring popularity of these characters continues to inspire new collectibles.
The charms are designed to be displayed together on a plate, making them a fun set for collectors. Each charm is individually packaged with the gummy candy.
