The official trailer for Eiga Meitantei Precure! Fushigi na Niwa to Futari no Himitsu has been released, offering a first look at the mysterious Cure Arcana Shadow and her ominous words, as well as appearances by Precure from Kimi to Idol Precure♪ and Wandafuru Purikyua!.
Story and Trailer Highlights
The film is the first theatrical entry in the Meitantei Precure! series, the 23rd installment of the Precure franchise. The TV series follows Akechi Anna, who on her birthday in 2027 meets a fairy named Pochitan and is transported back to 1999. There she meets Kobayashi Mikuru, a girl who dreams of being a detective, and the self-proclaimed genius fairy Jet-senpai. Together they form the Curette Detective Agency, transforming into the Meitantei Precure to solve mysteries and recover stolen treasures from the Phantom thief group.
In the movie, the story begins when a fairy named Rain arrives at the agency as a client. He asks for help regarding the so-called “Batsu-ji Jiken” (X-mark incidents) that have been plaguing the town. Rain leads Anna and her friends to a beautiful garden called Karin no Niwa, where they meet a girl named Karin and her guardian fairy Alan. The trailer also reveals human forms for Alan and Rain for the first time.
A particularly striking moment in the trailer is Cure Arcana Shadow’s line: “Anata, watashi mitai” (You, like me…). The meaning of this cryptic remark and its connection to the mystery of the X-mark incidents remains unclear. The trailer also shows Cure Eclair, who made her first transformation in the July 26 episode, and a different form of Cure Answer.
Music and Dance Videos
Alongside the trailer, dance lesson videos for the film’s ending theme “FIRST PRISM” and insert song “First Step” have been released. “FIRST PRISM” incorporates flowers, rainbows, and crystals into its choreography, reflecting the movie’s world. “First Step” is an empowering song with detective-themed moves, including a finger-pointing pose that evokes the series’ mystery-solving spirit.
New Stills
New stills from the film show Anna, Mikuru, and Jet-senpai enjoying a tea party with Karin and Alan in the mysterious garden. Karin has prepared homemade sweets, and the characters’ personalities shine through: Mikuru looks delighted, while Jet-senpai stuffs his face with treats.
