A new line of apparel inspired by Nyanko-sensei from the TV anime Natsume Yuujinchou has been released. The collection includes a trendy jacket, shoes, and a long wallet, available for pre-order now on the SuperGroupies official website and other retailers.
Natsume Yuujinchou is a supernatural contract tale based on the manga by Yuki Midorikawa, serialized in Monthly LaLa. The story follows lonely boy Takashi Natsume, who carries the secret that he can see youkai. After inheriting the “Book of Friends” from his powerful grandmother Reiko, he finds himself pursued by youkai. With his self-proclaimed bodyguard Nyanko-sensei, Natsume navigates the contracts his grandmother made with the spirits.
The TV anime first aired in 2008 and has run for six seasons. The main cast includes Hiroshi Kamiya as Natsume and Kazuhiko Inoue as Nyanko-sensei. A feature-length original film was released in September 2018, and two popular short episodes had limited theatrical screenings in January 2021. The seventh season, Natsume Yuujinchou Shichi, began airing on October 7, 2024.
Now, a collaboration apparel line featuring Nyanko-sensei motifs has arrived. The trendy jacket features a drop shoulder and puffy sleeves, with a tag at the collar showing Nyanko-sensei relaxing. The deck-shoe-style footwear has a check-pattern insole with natural plant motifs, and a leaf-shaped tag with Nyanko-sensei’s face. The long wallet, in elegant brown and gold, has a front pocket and stitching reminiscent of Nyanko-sensei’s forehead, while the back features his paw prints.
The lineup includes three items:
- Natsume Yuujinchou Model Jacket – Trendy drop-shoulder design with voluminous sleeves. Delivery scheduled for November 2026. Available in Ladies Free and Men’s Free sizes. Price: 22,000 yen (tax included).
- Natsume Yuujinchou Model Shoes – Deck-shoe style with Nyanko-sensei leaf tag and check-pattern insole. Sizes: 22.5cm, 23.5cm, 24.5cm, 25.5cm, 26.5cm, 27.5cm. Price: 15,400 yen (tax included). Delivery scheduled for December 2026.
- Natsume Yuujinchou Model Long Wallet – Brown and gold design with Nyanko-sensei forehead motif and paw prints on the back. Price: 16,500 yen (tax included). Delivery scheduled for December 2026.

The shoes feature a leaf-shaped tag with Nyanko-sensei’s face and a check-pattern insole with natural plant motifs.
The long wallet has a front pocket and stitching inspired by Nyanko-sensei’s forehead, with paw prints on the back.
Pre-orders are open until August 17, 2026, at 12:00 noon on the SuperGroupies official website, as well as at Animate Online Shop and Animate Ikebukuro main store. A sample display is available at Animate Ikebukuro for customers to see the items in person.
