Publishing company Shufu to Seikatsusha has announced a television anime adaptation of Daken’s light novel Tsuihou Sarete Shounin wa Kane no Chikara de Sekai wo Sukuu (also known as The Exiled Merchant Saves the World with the Power of Gold). The announcement was made on Friday.
Daken originally began writing the fantasy story on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in March 2023. Shufu to Seikatsusha later acquired the series and published the first and only volume in print under its PASH! Bunko imprint in March 2024.
A manga adaptation, illustrated by Chi Higashiyama with composition by Masahiro Itosugi, started serialization on Shufu to Seikatsusha’s Comic PASH!neo web service on July 31.
Synopsis
Torao is a merchant in the S-rank adventurer party Blue Ring. He is kicked out after being caught secretly providing financial support to Garnet, a rookie all-female adventurer party. Following his exile, Torao warns them, but Blue Ring ignores him and recklessly challenges the Demon King, leading to their total annihilation. Torao subsequently joins Garnet. Ironically, their very first mission is to head to the front lines to salvage valuable equipment from the corpses of the wiped-out Blue Ring members.
