Moomin fans have something new to celebrate this August. A stylish new apparel collection featuring beloved characters from the Moomin world is launching in collaboration with global sports lifestyle brand New Era. The collection will be available from August 9, 2026 — fittingly, Moomin Day — at New Era stores, the official online store, and nationwide New Era retailers.
About the Collaboration
The Moomin series was created by Finnish author, painter, and artist Tove Jansson. The stories of Moomin and his friends have been translated and published in over 50 countries. Based on the original novels, comics, and picture books, Moomin merchandise, attractions, and animations are beloved not only in Finland but also in Japan and many other nations.
This marks the first collaboration between New Era and Moomin. The collection features a range of characters: the curious Moomin, the adventurous novelist Moominpappa, the warm and loving Moominmamma, the brave and independent Little My, the free-spirited traveler Snufkin, and the mysterious Hattifatteners (Nyoronyoro).
Cap Lineup
The iconic New Era 59FIFTY cap features a design with the adorable Moomin and Snorkmaiden. A Snufkin model in a stylish khaki color comes with a charm.
The 9FORTY cap, which has a classic silhouette with a built-in inner core to maintain shape, is available in four variations. A cute pink cap featuring Snorkmaiden and Little My will also be sold.
The 9TWENTY cap, known for its soft, unstructured front, features white embroidery that stands out. Corduroy versions with Moomin & Snufkin and Little My are also in the lineup.
Kids’ caps are also available. A 9TWENTY cap covered in Hattifatteners (Nyoronyoro) is a heartwarming design.
Sauna Hat and More
In a nod to Finland, the birthplace of sauna, a sauna hat is also part of the collection. It helps prevent overheating by insulating the head, and protects hair and scalp.
Cold-Weather and Accessory Items
Knit hats and hoodies are included for colder seasons. A small neck pouch (0.3L) features Moomin and Snorkmaiden wearing large headphones, suitable for daily use and outdoor activities.
Golf Items Coming in September
From early September, golf-themed items will go on sale. These will feature Moomin’s family and Moominpappa, making them a must-see for golf and Moomin fans alike.
