The official website for the TV anime Free Fire Daybreak, based on the globally popular mobile battle royale game Garena Free Fire, has opened, revealing the first official promotional video and story details. The anime is scheduled to begin broadcasting and streaming worldwide, including in Japan, in spring 2027.
About the Game
Developed and operated by Garena Online Private Limited, Garena Free Fire has been the world’s most-downloaded mobile battle royale game for seven consecutive years since 2019. It enjoys massive support particularly among young players in South America, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.
Story and Setting
The story of Free Fire Daybreak takes place in the near-future city of New Dawn, a metropolis controlled by the massive corporation Horizon. The protagonist, a girl named Kelly who has lost her memories, awakens a mysterious ability to “open” anything on her 16th birthday. As she searches for her lost memories, she becomes entangled in the conspiracies swirling within Horizon and the truth hidden behind the “Talent Awakening Program.” Together with new friends and her power of opening, Kelly must confront her own destiny. What future will she choose?
Key Visual and PV
The key visual features the near-future city of New Dawn in the background, with Kelly—bright and moving forward despite her amnesia—alongside Hayato, who sharply wields a sword, and Moco, who aims a gun. Within the glass shards, a different version of Kelly with altered hair color, awakened to her opening ability, can also be seen.
The official PV introduces the main characters and builds anticipation for the story as Kelly investigates her lost past and the truth behind Horizon’s Talent Awakening Program.
