A new collaboration event between the TV anime The Apothecary Diaries and Tokyo City View, titled “Dance Weaves a Fantasy World — A Melody Resounding in the Sky,” began on August 1, 2026, at the Roppongi Hills observation deck in Tokyo.

An opening ceremony was held the day before the event, featuring guest Panther Sugai Ryotaro in a talk session. Sugai spoke about the event’s theme of dance, the appeal of the series, and highlights of the exhibition, sharing his impressions after viewing the displays.
“The pacing is wonderful. I was moved by the beauty of the light in the special video, the delicate movements down to the fingertips, and the elegance of the dance. In particular, the three-screen video presentation with its powerful music is something I hope everyone will experience,” Sugai said, describing the unique appeal of the event. He added, “I think this is an event that truly anyone, young or old, can enjoy. I hope people come twice — the atmosphere and emotions are different during the day and night, so please enjoy each charm.” Afterward, the first-ever public display of a Maomao statue was unveiled, and a photo session was held, filling the venue with laughter and excitement.
Exhibition Highlights
This is the first collaboration between The Apothecary Diaries and Tokyo City View. With the theme of “night sky × dance,” the event focuses on dance scenes from the story for the first time, using the observation deck’s special effects to depict the fantastical dance scenes woven by Maomao and Jinshi. Visitors can trace the story’s trajectory through vivid displays, photo spots, and immersive video, reliving the world of the TV anime.
Upon entering, guests are greeted by an entrance area where a panoramic view and the animation’s visual beauty intersect. A large display shows the iconic scene of Maomao’s dance, syncing beautifully with the city skyline, transforming the real sky into the story’s stage. A special video reviewing the story so far is also screened. The changing expressions of Roppongi’s scenery between day and night draw visitors into the world of The Apothecary Diaries.

A major highlight is the special exhibition of the Maomao statue, shown for the first time. The statue captures Maomao with eyes shining with endless curiosity about medicines and poisons. It is a must-see photo spot, and visitors can take pictures with the medicine shelf where Maomao always mixes her remedies in the background, as if standing in the same space as her.

Inside the theater space, the “Dance of Loulan” is shown on a grand scale using three screens. The immersive sound and dynamic presentation bring the tense atmosphere of that moment and Loulan’s hidden feelings to life.
Throughout the exhibition area, details from the story are woven into the decor, such as a palace-inspired entrance and a field of medicinal herbs and mushrooms that would delight Maomao. There are also hidden references for keen fans to discover as they explore.
The memorable scene where Maomao solves the foreign envoy’s impossible request and announces the name of the moon goddess Diana is recreated as a photo spot, allowing visitors to step into the story for commemorative photos.
A special shop at the venue offers a variety of new original goods featuring the event’s key visual, as well as designs incorporating the elegant world of the series, various character visuals, and memorable lines. These items are perfect both as souvenirs and for everyday use.

The event also features a special audio guide available on Spotify. It includes a retrospective audio guide by Maomao’s voice actress Yuuki Aoi and Jinshi’s voice actor Ootsuka Takeo, as well as a mini voice drama between Maomao and Jinshi. Purchasing an event ticket grants a limited character card commemorating the collaboration with Spotify.
