Shin Tennis no Oujisama Manga Concludes After 27-Year Serialization

Takeshi Konomi‘s sequel sports manga Shin Tennis no Oujisama (The Prince of Tennis II) has ended its run in the September 2026 issue of Jump SQ., bringing a close to a serialization that spanned nearly 27 years.

Konomi launched the series in Jump SQ. in March 2009. The 47th compiled volume hit shelves on June 4, and the 48th and final volume is scheduled for release on September 4.

The original Prince of Tennis manga ran in Weekly Shounen Jump from 1998 to 2008, collected into 42 volumes. VIZ Media licensed the series in English in February 2004 and published all volumes between May 2004 and July 2011.

The first anime adaptation of the original manga premiered in Fall 2001, followed by several original video animations and two movies in 2005 and 2011. A television anime for the sequel, produced by Production I.G and M.S.C, aired in Winter 2012. The ten-episode OVA Shin Tennis no Oujisama vs Genius 10 ran from October 2014 to June 2015.

More recently, the Shin Tennis no Oujisama U-17 World Cup anime aired in Summer 2022, followed by Shin Tennis no Oujisama U-17 World Cup Semifinal in Fall 2024. Crunchyroll streamed both with subtitles and an English dub. A new sequel, Shin Tennis no Oujisama U-17 World Cup Kesshou Member Ketteisen, is scheduled to premiere in October 2026.
