A new design model of the “Godzilla Voice Alarm Clock” from select shop Direct Art Gallery is now available for pre-order, featuring rare original audio from the 1954 film Godzilla.
The 1954 film Godzilla is a landmark of Japanese special effects cinema. Its portrayal of Godzilla as a symbol of nuclear terror in post-war Japan, and its profound anti-nuclear message, resonated far beyond the monster movie genre. The franchise has since grown into a global phenomenon, with recent hits like Godzilla Minus One and the upcoming Godzilla -0.0 (releasing November 3) drawing renewed attention.
This new alarm clock model captures the world of the very first film. Following the success of a limited edition, it now appears as a regular model with a fresh design.
The dial has been completely redesigned with a still-photo style image that directly conveys Godzilla’s overwhelming presence and the realism of a city under attack.
Each morning, the clock wakes you with three powerful sound effects from the 1954 original: “Opening Style,” “Godzilla Rampaging in the City,” and “Roar.” A switch lets you choose between these and a standard bell alarm.
The “Godzilla Voice Alarm Clock (New Design Model)” is priced at 8,800 yen (tax included) and is scheduled to ship from mid-August 2026. To commemorate the release, Direct Art Gallery’s official X (formerly Twitter) account is running a giveaway for a chance to get the product early.
