The Blu-ray and DVD for Mononoke Movie: Chapter 3 – Snake God will be released on October 21, 2026. The Blu-ray is priced at 9,900 yen (tax included). The disc contains the 87-minute main feature plus extensive bonus content. Video specifications include MPEG-4 AVC, 16:9 cinemascope, 1080p High-Definition, with Japanese LPCM 2.0ch stereo and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1ch surround audio, and Japanese and English subtitles.

Background of Mononoke

Mononoke originated from the Bakeneko arc of the 2006 series Ayakashi, which aired on Fuji TV’s Noitamina block. It became a full television series in 2007 and remains immensely popular even 19 years later. In a popularity vote among Noitamina’s 70 broadcast works, Mononoke took first place. The story follows the mysterious Medicine Seller, who wields the only sword capable of exorcising Mononoke, as he confronts supernatural entities. The theatrical trilogy began in 2024 and has captivated fans ever since.
