Fans of the Moomin series can now add a touch of whimsy to their daily bathroom routine with new merchandise featuring the beloved character known as the Ancestor. The “Ugaigokko & Stand” (gargling cup and stand) and “Toothbrush Stand W” are set to be released sequentially from mid-August 2026 at select stores and online shops.
Moomin was created by Tove Jansson, the Finnish national author, painter, and artist. The stories of Moomin trolls and their friends have been translated and published in more than 50 countries. Goods, attractions, and animations based on the original novels, comics, and picture books are loved not only in Finland but also by people in Japan and many other nations.
Gargling Cup & Stand (Ancestor)
The “Ugaigokko & Stand” set includes a stand with a figure of the Ancestor and a cup. After use, the cup can be placed on the stand to drain water, and the rim does not touch the washbasin directly, helping to keep it clean. The cup has a capacity of approximately 270 mL, making it easy to incorporate into daily use.
Toothbrush Stand W (Ancestor)
The “Toothbrush Stand W” features the Ancestor sitting in the center, looking up at you, adding a subtle touch of fun to your daily brushing routine. It can hold two toothbrushes side by side, and can also be used on a desk to hold pens or stamps. Its simple design makes it easy to adopt and also a recommended gift item.
