ABEMA has opened the “Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu ABEMA Channel” to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the TV anime, which is based on the light novel series by Tanigawa Nagaru. The channel is streaming all 28 episodes of the 2009 broadcast version and the theatrical film The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya for free from August 16 to August 19. In addition, all eight episodes of the “Endless Eight” arc were streamed continuously for 12 hours starting at noon on August 17, the same day the time loop began in the story. All streams are available for free for two weeks after their initial broadcast.
The Endless Eight Quiz
ABEMA’s official anime social media account has posted a quiz based on the “Endless Eight” arc, asking fans to identify which loop each character’s yukata appearance comes from. The quiz features Haruhi, Yuki, and Mikuru in yukata, and challenges viewers to determine which of the eight loops each outfit belongs to. Given that the arc repeats the same summer vacation across eight episodes, the difficulty is understandably high.
Social media reactions have been intense, with comments such as “This is too hard, I’m dying,” “I feel insanity,” “The difficulty is insane,” and “What kind of crazy project is this?” flooding in from fans who are struggling with the challenge.
