Two new Haikyu!! anime projects are set to hit screens in 2027: the theatrical film Gekijouban Haikyu!! VS Chiisana Kyojin (Haikyu!! vs. the Little Giant) and the special anime Haikyu!! Bakemonotachi no Iku Tokoro (The Place Where the Monsters Go). On August 19, 2026, during the special program Haikyu!! RECEPTION #3 aired on “Haikyu!! Day,” a wealth of new information was revealed, including a concept visual, an action PV, and new school visuals.
Movie Concept Visual: Hinata and Hoshiumi Lock Eyes
From the upcoming theatrical film, a concept visual has been released showing Karasuno High’s Hinata Shouyou and Ougai High’s Hoshiumi Kourai standing on the court at Tokyo Gymnasium, the venue for the Haruko Volleyball Tournament. The two “small giants” face each other at the same eye level, their intense gazes meeting in anticipation of the fierce battle for the title of “small giant.” The visual sets the stage for the long-awaited showdown.
Special Anime PV and Teaser Visual: Aces Collide
For the special anime Haikyu!! Bakemonotachi no Iku Tokoro, an action PV using new footage from the main story has been unveiled. The PV showcases Fukurodani High’s Bokuto Koutarou and Mujinazaka High’s Kiryu Hachi—two of the nation’s top aces—exchanging fierce spikes, each refusing to yield an inch. The rapid-fire action between the two schools drives the energetic trailer.
A teaser visual has also arrived, featuring the aces standing before banners reading “Ichikyuu Nyuukon” (One Ball, One Soul) and “Hyakuren Seikou” (Tempered Steel). These words symbolize the strength of each ace. Additionally, “school visuals” depict the setters: Fukurodani’s Akashi Keiji, who clears the path for Bokuto, and Mujinazaka’s Usuri Mitsuru, who supports Kiryu. The setter duel is poised to be a major highlight of the special anime.
Collaboration with SV.LEAGUE All-Star Games
A collaboration between the Haikyu!! anime and the “Emutsu presents SV.LEAGUE ALL STAR GAMES 2026-27 HOKKAIDO” event, scheduled for January 30, 2027, has also been announced. Voice actor Murase Ayumu, who voices Hinata Shouyou, will appear at the event, and newly recorded audio is planned to be played in the venue. Character photo spots and mascot greeting sessions are also on the schedule, as Haikyu!! joins in to enliven the “volleyball festival.”
