Rakuen Tsuihou: The Stellar Angel Visual Novel Launches November 26 on Steam and Switch

Toei Animation and Studio51 have announced that the PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch game Rakuen Tsuihou -The Stellar Angel- will launch on November 26, 2026.

A brand-new visual novel bridging the two theatrical films

This game is a completely new visual novel based on the theatrical animation Rakuen Tsuihou. The original 2014 film, Rakuen Tsuihou -Expelled from Paradise-, was set in the year 2400, where 98% of humanity had abandoned their physical bodies to live in the cyber world Deva. It was a full 3DCG anime created by Urobuchi Gen (Nitroplus) and Mizushima Seiji. The sequel, Rakuen Tsuihou: Kokoro no Resonance, is scheduled for release on November 13, 2026.

The game Rakuen Tsuihou -The Stellar Angel- tells the story that connects these two theatrical films. The scenario is written by Tedashima Shoutarou, author of the novel Rakuen Tsuihou mission.0.

Story

――Year 2400.
Since the great nano-hazard disaster that devastated the surface world, 98% of humanity has abandoned their bodies and migrated to the virtual space Deva.
Suddenly, mysterious new lifeforms called “parallel plants” begin to sprout on the ruined Earth. Around the rapidly expanding parallel plants, giant worms appear and attack humans one after another.
The center of the parallel plant outbreak is a desert town that became a ghost town due to a plague – Suvarga.
At the same time, an agent of the Deva Security Bureau who stole the top-secret file “Gray Goo,” containing nano-hazard data, escapes to the surface. His trail also leads to Suvarga.
Now, various schemes intersect in this desert town shrouded in mystery and conspiracy――.

The game features Angela Balzac, who left Deva and runs a “odd jobs” business on the surface with Dingo, and Dingo / Zarik Kajiwara, a surface dweller who served as an observer for Deva security. Their voice actors are the same as in the film: Kugimiya Rie and Miki Shinichirou.

Gameplay includes a choice system called the “K2-system.” Angela’s heart wavers at key points in the story, and choices about bonds and resolve will branch the narrative.

The game is developed as a joint project between Toei Animation and Studio51. It is Studio51’s first self-produced console/PC title. The company, which has extensive experience in the adventure genre, says it will feature the deep storytelling of Rakuen Tsuihou and plans to continue releasing its own works in the future.

Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch package editions (regular and limited) have started, and Steam wishlist registration is also open. The limited edition includes a newly written novel, a newly illustrated B2 tapestry, an original soundtrack, and an angel wing bookmark. According to the official announcement, the download version’s release and pre-order timing is undecided, and details will be announced on the official website and social media once confirmed.

Along with this announcement, the official website has fully opened, revealing the teaser PV, synopsis, and character information. An official Discord server has also been launched for fans to discuss the entire Rakuen Tsuihou series.

Rakuen Tsuihou -The Stellar Angel- is scheduled for release on November 26, 2026 for Nintendo Switch (package/download) and PC (Steam). Prices are 6,380 yen for the regular package, 5,280 yen for the download version, and 11,880 yen for the limited edition (tax included).
