The YouTube anime project Matsuken Anime ~Kore Seibai shite mo Ii desu ka?~ will begin streaming on August 29, 2026.
The project reimagines the long-beloved image of Matsudaira Ken as a modern character IP, expanding into animation content centered on YouTube. The works will be short animations that tackle the “moya-moya” (vague frustrations) people feel in daily life, using a clear-cut good-vs-evil story structure to deliver bright, positive entertainment. With a world that blends approachability and exhilarating justice, the project aims to connect with a wide range of viewers.
The main cast includes Matsudaira Ken as the protagonist Matsuken, Uesaka Sumire as his partner Matsuinu, and Namikawa Daisuke as various characters appearing in each episode. Matsuken appears before the everyday frustrations of people and, with his partner Matsuinu, delivers bright and exhilarating justice.
Matsuinu, voiced by Uesaka Sumire, is a vital presence who works with Matsuken to resolve people’s frustrations. With a sharp sense of smell, she finds the source of the frustration and supports Matsuken with sometimes sharp retorts, enlivening the story.
Namikawa Daisuke plays a variety of characters that appear before Matsuken and friends in each episode. From office workers, bosses, shop clerks, and friends, he brings to life the unique personalities that color the world of Matsuken Anime.

“I don’t often get the chance to play a dog character, so I was really looking forward to taking on the unique role of Matsuinu. Matsuinu is a very expressive and lively character. I performed with the intention of making the work even more enjoyable. I’m also excited to see the world of ‘Matsuken Samba,’ which I’ve known since childhood, depicted as an anime. “I was honored to hear that I could participate in a work starring Matsudaira Ken. This time, I’m in charge of various characters other than Matsuken and Matsuinu, and I performed with care to express each role’s individuality. The characters in this work each carry their own ‘moya-moya.’ I’d be happy if you can feel those feelings and backgrounds even in short scenes.
