Author Hamayumiba Sou announced via the official X account on Wednesday that the Ochikobore Fruit Tart manga will end with its ninth volume.
The series concluded its magazine serialization in the September 2026 issue of Manga Time Kirara Carat on July 28, followed by the digital release of its 123rd and final chapter on August 1. The ninth and final volume is scheduled for an August 27 release, marking the end of the series’ over ten-year run.
Hamayumiba originally ran the slice-of-life idol manga as a guest series in Manga Time Kirara Carat between the January and March 2015 issues before debuting regularly in its July 2015 issue. Houbunsha published the eighth compiled volume in December 2024.
A 12-episode television anime adaptation produced by feel. aired in Fall 2020. Funimation simulcast the series with subtitles as it aired in Japan, and later premiered an English dub in October 2021.
Synopsis
Ino Sakura moves to Tokyo to join the newly formed idol group Fruit Tart, which includes three other members: Sekino Roko, a washed-up child actor; Nukui Hayu, a failed musician; and Maehara Nina, a model still waiting for her first gig. They begin living together in their dormitory, the Mouse House, but soon discover that Fruit Tart is in debt to the tune of one hundred million yen and hasn’t even started performing.
If they can’t repay the money, the group will break up and the Mouse House will be torn down. The girls must work their way up from the bottom of idol society, writing their own songs and making a name for themselves. Luckily, experienced idol Hemo Midori is a huge fan of Sakura and decides to join. With smiles on their faces, Sakura and the others work hard to become popular idols while making sure each day is as fun as the last.
