Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon is bringing the magic of transformation to your makeup bag. A new line of lip and cheek products inspired by the series’ iconic transformation items—the Transformation Brooch, Crystal Star Compact, and Cosmic Heart Compact—is set to launch sequentially from Friday, August 28, 2026.
The new items are part of the Miracle Romance cosmetics line, officially named “Miracle Romance Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Multi Carry Lip & Cheek.” Each compact is designed to resemble a different transformation device from the series.
Background
Sailor Moon, created by Naoko Takeuchi, began serialization in Kodansha’s monthly magazine Nakayoshi in 1991. The original manga has been translated into 17 languages, and the anime series has been broadcast in over 40 countries, becoming a global phenomenon. A new project launched in 2012, and the franchise has continued to expand with the 30th anniversary project, including the 2024 art book “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Resoné ART WORKS 1991–2023” and the 2025 performance show “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon The Super Live” in London, North America, and Japan. Currently, the second run of “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon – Shining Theater Shinagawa Tokyo -” is being performed through November 2026.
The cases feature a glittering plated finish with a central stone that catches the light. They are compact enough to fit in the palm of your hand, and each comes with a ball chain so you can attach it to a bag or keep it in your pouch. The design is meant to make touch-ups on the go feel special.
Inside each case is a color balm that can be used on both lips and cheeks. The shade varies depending on the design, but all are sheer and easy to blend with any makeup look. Each balm also has its own gentle fragrance.
The balm is formulated with moisturizing ingredients including hyaluronic acid, jojoba seed oil, and mugwort flower extract, while Plukenetia volubilis seed oil helps lock in hydration.
The “Miracle Romance Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Multi Carry Lip & Cheek” will be available from August 28, 2026.
