Announcement
The official X account of Kadokawa’s Dengeki no Shinbungei label announced on August 27 that the Unnamed Memory: After the End light novel series, written by Kuji Furumiya with illustrations by chibi, will end with its eighth volume on December 17.
Series History
Furumiya began writing the sequel fantasy romance light novel under the Dengeki no Shinbungei imprint in February 2022. Kadokawa published the sixth volume in May 2025, and the seventh volume is scheduled for release on November 17.
The original Unnamed Memory story was first posted on Furumiya’s personal website in 2008, then later on Shousetsuka ni Narou starting in September 2012. Kadokawa published the original series in six volumes from September 2019 to April 2021, also with illustrations by chibi.
Manga Adaptation
Naoki Etsuma began serializing a manga adaptation of the original light novel in Monthly Dengeki Daioh magazine in September 2020. The tenth volume shipped on March 27.
English Release
Yen Press licensed the original light novel and manga in English in July 2020 and February 2022, respectively. The sixth and final volume of the light novel went on sale in October 2022. The seventh manga volume was released on January 20, and the eighth volume is scheduled to ship on September 22.
Anime
Produced by ENGI, the first season aired in 12 episodes in Spring 2024. A second season titled Unnamed Memory Act.2 aired in Winter 2025. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with English subtitles.
Award
Unnamed Memory ranked first in the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2020 in the books category.
