The final chapter of Kyoto Animation’s beloved band anime series, Hibike! Euphonium, is set to hit theaters nationwide on September 11, 2026. Ahead of the release, the production team has revealed the first and second week audience gifts, along with a fresh batch of new scene cuts that promise to deepen the story’s emotional resonance.
Based on the novel by Takeda Ayano, Hibike! Euphonium has captivated audiences since its TV debut in 2015. The series follows the students of Kitauji High School’s concert band as they navigate personal growth, rivalry, and friendship through music. With three TV seasons, multiple films, and a spin-off, the franchise has earned a devoted following. The first part of the final movie, Final Chapter: Hibike! Euphonium, premiered on April 24, 2026.
Now, the second part is ready to conclude the story. Announced during a YouTube live stream on September 6, the audience gifts are titled Gold Foil Stamping! Graduation Cards. For the first week, starting September 11, fans will receive one of six randomly selected cards featuring Kumiko, Hazuki, Mayu, Nozomi, Natsuki, and Asuka. The second week, beginning September 18, offers cards of Reina, Midori, Suzu, Mizore, Yuuko, and Kaho. All twelve cards showcase the characters in vibrant, individually designed formal attire, with gold foil accents on the borders for an extra touch of elegance. These gifts are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
In addition to the gifts, 19 new scene cuts have been released, offering glimpses of the cultural festival, graduation ceremony, and the band’s journey to the national competition. Among them is a moment between protagonist Kumiko and the pivotal character Mayu that was not depicted in the TV anime. These scenes capture the final days of high school life and the determination to win the national gold award.
Fans will be eager to see how the relationships between the characters evolve and what musical pieces will be performed during the festival scenes.
To celebrate the film’s release, several campaigns have been announced. A ticket stub campaign will award one-of-a-kind illustrated shikishi boards drawn by director Ogawa Taichi, chief director Ishidate Tatsuya, and character designer & chief animation director Ikeda Kazumi. A separate comment campaign offers autographed pamphlets from the cast as prizes.
The second part of Final Chapter: Hibike! Euphonium opens on September 11, 2026, at approximately 200 theaters across Japan. It marks the culmination of an 11-year journey for the series, bringing the story of the Kitauji High School concert band to a close. Be sure to witness the final notes they play and the conclusion they reach on the big screen.
