Katayama Ayaka’s manga Kin to Tetsu (Fungus and Iron) has ended with its 105th chapter, which appeared in the October 2026 issue of Bessatsu Shounen Magazine on Tuesday. The series concludes a five-year serialization run.
The dystopian sci-fi suspense manga began in the same magazine in March 2021. Kodansha shipped the ninth volume on April 9, and the tenth and final volume is scheduled for release on October 8.
Kodansha USA licensed the manga for English digital release in January 2022 and published the ninth e-book volume on July 21.
Katayama made her debut in 2007 after her one-shot Oni Oi no Kawa was selected for the 78th Shounen Magazine Newcomer Manga Awards. The following year, she won the Grand Prize at Shueisha’s inaugural Golden Tiara Award for her sci-fi romcom manga Star Man.
Production company VAP announced a television anime adaptation of the series on March 4.
